Welcome To Dubanni Foundation

The state of Uttarakhand in the Himalayan region of India is economically backward and its people in the hills mainly depend on agriculture for their living. The changes in climatic condition / untimely rains and in the absence of job opportunities the young / educated have migrated to the cities in search of livelihood. The state of Uttarakhand came into existence to overcome backwardness in the hills and stop migration of its people to plane areas. But even after 13 years of State formation no change has come either in migration or in the living standard of its people.

The unattended fertile land in most of villages has not only become barren but the easily grown pine trees are converting the fertile land into pine forest. The pine trees in Uttarakhand are the major reasons for the Forest Fire, destroying its natural habitation, besides Pine absorbed water, thus does not allow other plants to grow.

In view of this, the Dubanni Foundation, a Public Charitable Trust, Non-Profit making, Non-political voluntary organization has adopted block Chakhutia consists of 99 villages, in the district Almora to help the people of the area by promoting mainly Plantation / Computer Literacy / Old Age Home / Health Center.

The villages under block Chakhutia situated in the Gewar / Gairsain Valley by the side of river Ramganga, an area of 30x10 km app., which is 60 Km. south of Ranikhet, a well known hill station and just 20 Km from the proposed capital “Gairsen”, (middle of Garhwal & Kumaon region). It is at an altitude of about 1800 Mt, on the Ramnagar (Corbett Park) to Badrinath Road, nearly 370 Km. from Delhi.

Plantation

It is a well known fact that there is going to be water scarcity in the world. Our country will not be different. The hills will be severally affected, specially the Himalayan Glacier, which is the main source of water for the Indian sub- continent. The increase in temperature in every summer is an indication of hardship human kind is going to face in the future.
The plantation will not only bring Environmental Sustainability in the Himalayan region but will, also help in ozone lessening to meet Kyoto declaration / counter CO2 and deter warming of the world, besides generating additional income for the Farmers. We are promoting plantation of 10 Lacs Herbal Plants (Amla / Reetha / Tejpat / Bel) and other water retaining &Fruits plants in 99 villages under Block Chakhutia, District Almora, Uttarakhand to set an example for others to follow the same in their areas.

We request likeminded individuals or corporate under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to associate with us in this movement by contributing in multiples of 100 plants (minimum) costing Rs. 5,000/- (The cost of 1 plant for planting & caring is Rs.50/-).
Computer Literacy program

There is need to educate computers knowledge to every youth. In today’s time it has become primary requirement to get a job. The students from poor family in the hills could not afford to go to bigger cities for computer Training from a recognize Institute. Our Foundation has therefore in coordination with NIIT Foundation, Delhi and with the help of used computers donated by HCL Technology, Noida, has set up computer training centers to impart computer knowledge to the poor students.
The NIIT Foundation holds the exam and issue Certificate to the qualified students but at a cost. Hence we request likeminded individuals or corporate under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to adopt students to make them computer literate by contributing Rs.2000/- fees per student for 3 month Basic IT course.

Old Age Home

The migration of youth from the Hills to the cities in search of livelihood, have left behind their old age parents to fend for them - selves. A solitary old figure living all by him - selves / her - selves in a large house is a common sight in the villages. As such, there are instances when even four men are not available to take the dead bodies for there last rites.
We have proposed to set up 60 bedded Old Age Home with the help of individuals or corporate under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), at Masi, by the side of river Ramganga, so that proper facility is provided to the really needed deprived poor old aged population of the Hills and migrated older generation waiting for such facility to return to their home land. Besides, this project will also help senior citizen having substantial means of living and are staying alone in big cities can also move to safer and pollution free atmosphere.
Health Center

The hill areas have been deprived of proper Medical facility. The existing Medical facilities provided by the Govt. are not sufficient. The Doctors are not available in most of the existing govt. hospitals and there is hardly any pathology laboratory to help to diagnose the illness. The medicine prescribed without lab test, at times aggravate their illness & die in harness or travel all the way to Delhi for treatment.
We therefore propose to set up 40 bedded Hospital with basic medical facility, with the help of individuals or corporate under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), in the Hills in the Gewar Valley by the side of river Ramganga. Which is just 20 - 30 Km from the proposed capital “Gairsen”, middle of Garhwal & Kumaon, situated on Ramnagar (Corbett Park) to Badrinath Road?
