The Foundation is active in block Chakhutia, Distt. Almora, promoting cultivation of Medicinal Plants and Floricultures. We have also organized Medical Camps and hold Seminars to bring awareness among farmers of the area for cultivation of MAP. We have also formed Self Help Groups in the villages in order to promote their participation in cultivation of Herbal Plants, besides imparting Computer education to the students with the help of NIIT Foundation, Delhi
In order to promote Herbal Plants cultivation in the villages we organized a seminar on May 2010 on “Awareness Program on Prospect and Potential for cultivation of Medicinal Plants” at Block Chakhutia to motivate Farmers into farming of Herbal Plants along with their traditional crop to have better financial gain. The Seminar was organized with the help of Planning Commission of India, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
Though in the earlier years we purchased herbal plants from market and distributed free of cost to the farmers but from July 2010 with the help of HRDI, Gopeshwar, District Chamoli, Uttrakhand, we have been distributing Lemon Grass / Tejpatta / Amla sapling free of cost to the Farmers.
We have organized Medical camp at Bhumia Mandir, Masi under block Chakhutia during the Somnath Mela 8-10, May 2010 for general check up and distributed Medicine free of cost. The older generation was the main beneficiary of the camp.
Further in view of the hardship face by the students in this backward area in getting certificate from recognized Institute for the computer training they avail in these small town, our Foundation in coordination with NIIT Foundation, Delhi, have set up 4 computer training centers viz. at Masi / Chakhutia / Bhikiyasen / Dwarahat in the District Almora to impart computer knowledge to the poor students of this backward region.
We are also looking forward to set up an Old Age Home by the side of river Ramganga at Masi on the Ramnager (Corbett) to Badrinath Highway. This will not only help older people of hill areas but also help the older migrants, who want to return to their motherland but have no houses in the villages.
We are also perusing to start 40 bed room hospital with a mobile van to provide medical facility viz. pathology lab, X- ray machine, ultra sound, ENT & Eye check up and other facility for the people of the area.
